the bladder
My mother was recently told that she has air in her bladder. Her doctor said that there are two ways that air can get into the bladder. One is when a catheter is inserted air can go in with it. The other is a fistula between the colon and bladder that allows air to enter from the colon into the bladder. I have since seen an article that says that bladder infections can sometimes cause gas (air) to build up in the bladder. Hope this helps!
Once covered by the tide, the air-filled bladders will float upright, allowing the seaweed to benefit from sunlight.

to hold air
The pressure tank is supposed to have an air pocket in it. The air is contained inside a bladder like an inner tube. When the the bladder fails the air is absorbed into the water and the pressure tank no longer does it job and must be replaced to prevent damage. The most commonly ruined item by this failure is the water pump on your system.
