No one has an accurate measure of ANY existing shark species. Anyone who claims they do is a liar and not a real scientist. As sharks cannot be counted or their populations accurately monitored, population studies are all assumption. Some times you can at least get the trend of increase or decrease right. But, you sure don't know how many of them there are. I will say this much, we rate catch by TONNAGE and the very low catch allowed is in the thousands of tons just in America. Tons on bull shark adults is not a lot of sharks but overall, the catch limits represent at least thousands of sharks and we could catch millions if we wanted to do so.
