Technically, most fish can survive without pumps and air fulters in a large outdoor pond with a large surface area for ixygen to enter the water and plants to clean the water. However, if keeping them as pets you should always provide pumps and filters, ir they will live very short lives. Otherwise it would be similar to keeping a human in a dark crate with little oxygen and no waste disposal. do not belive that betta fish can live in these terrible conditions, as it is unfair to them
When its dirty you need to change the filter.
ALL fish need filtration.
Goldfish dont have to have a filter but they need water conditioner like all fish.Fish can survive without a filter but they are always good to have because you dont have to clean it out as often
Food... Water... And a filter...
Yes, fish in an aquarium typically need a filter to survive because it helps to keep the water clean and maintain a healthy environment for the fish to live in.
yes they do
They float on the surface near still and occasionally eat top dwelling fish. (Dont get hatchet fish etc.) They will swim elegantly to catch food.(Live food and flake food) They will need a silent filter. THEY ARE AWESOME!
It never hurts to have a filter it will only improve your fish's chances of survival and decrease your need to clean.
it is always good to get some kind of filter for your fish, but natural ponds dont' always need one. the filters will keep out some bad bacteria though, and keep your fish healthy longer, and allow you to actually see them. goldfish are very hardy and can withstand quite a bit.
guppies
It is best that all fish have a filter besides Betta fish. Betta fish don't need filters cause the filter pushes them over with their big fins. Goldfish should have a filter on there tank because they are often overfed. If you have a filter you won't have to change the water as often. The only fish that shouldn't have a filer in captivity are Betta fish.
they need a filter and i would only recoment a koi
