You can simply fill up a cooler with your pond water and move the fish. Once you get to the new home, slowly add the new water to the cooler because the fish will go into shock from the immediate temperature change. The process should take around 20 to 30 minutes.
don't get trout get either koi fish or a big goldfish if you already have fish in your pond don't put in trout because it might not be adapted to pond life or the other fish [if you already have some]
Tap water typically needs to sit for at least 24 hours before being added to a koi pond to allow chlorine to evaporate. If the water is treated with a dechlorinator, it can be used immediately. Additionally, it's important to ensure that the temperature and pH levels of the new water match those of the pond to minimize stress on the koi. Always check for any contaminants or chemicals in the tap water that could harm the fish.
A new cat may not be eating and hiding due to stress from adjusting to a new environment. It is common for cats to take time to feel comfortable and start eating regularly. Give your cat space, provide a quiet and safe area, and offer enticing food options to help them settle in. If the behavior persists, consult a veterinarian for further advice.
Yes pond comets and other pond goldfish get along with koi, however koi can get over 24 inches long when a comet typically doesn't grow more than 12 inches- that's quite a considerable difference in size (which is why its often best to keep koi with other koi and goldfish with other goldfish).
They eat fish food. You can choose to not feed them at all because Koi are bottom feeders, and the more you feed them the less algae they will eat. Feeding koi is done only for entertainment reasons. Though if you do feed them, we recommend not feeding fish more than once a day. The fish have plenty of things to nibble on in the pond, and the more you feed the fish, the more waste they will produce. The only time you have to feed your koi is when a new pond is installed, because there is no algae for the fish to eat. Also you must feed your koi fish less in the wintertime (depending on your area). Don't feed the fish when the water is under 55 degrees because the fish metabolism is slowed down and won't be able to process the food.
Not sure about Koi fish, but with most other freshwater fish you can do an instant cycling and water preparation for your fish. There is products out there that should help add bacterial colonies, remove chlorine and add a protective coating for your fish so they will be ready for the new water.
A new kitten may hide and not eat due to stress from a new environment, fear, illness, or adjusting to a new routine. It is important to provide a quiet and safe space for the kitten to feel comfortable and offer enticing food options to encourage eating. If the behavior persists, it is recommended to consult a veterinarian for further evaluation and guidance.
Put pond water in a cooler with fish in it. Then bring it to the other pond and put small amounts of the new water into the cooler so it slowly adjusts to the environment. After about 20 or 30 minutes of doing this, take the fish out of the cooler and put them into their new home.
