All fish have a coating of clear slime to protect them. If your goldfish have brownish slime then the fishes water needs changing urgently.
goldfish have a protective slime coat to keep them from getting sick. It's likely that the goldfish find it tasty. If this occurs often, you can buy a slime coat solution that encourages regrowth of it.
Yes, he will suck on anything
No. But if it is shedding for some strange reason, that means it has a body slime fungus disease.
A good pH range for goldfish is 7.2 to 7.6 If it is higher than this, it will shorten your goldfish's lifespan dramatically, and can irritate his slime coat, which is how they fight off diseases. Also ammonia thrives in harder water, so they can get gill burn, and other nasty things that kill them.
If it is a young fish it is just getting its colours. They are all (uncoloured) ie. blackish, brownish, greyish, as youngsters.
No. There are over 800 different species of Pleco, all of which are tropical fish and huge waste producers. Orange Goldfish are coldwater, and also huge waste producers, so you can only imagine the mess that would end up in that tank. Also, some species of Pleco will not touch algae or veges and may decide to suck off the slime coat from the Orandas, leaving the Goldfish open to infections and parasites. Once a Pleco gets a taste for slime coat, it gets addicted! So no Plecos with Goldfish!
I believe you mean the fishes mucoprotective slime coat. It is there to protect the fish from things (bugs/chemicals/etc etc) in the water that may damage it.
Goldfish have a layer of slime on their bodies, it is their protection against disease and parasites and so it should not be damaged. Handling or stroking them is not smart simply because of that reason. Obviously they should never be stressed out by removing them from the water unless there is a jolly good reason to do so.
Because when a Algae Eater becomes fully grown it likes to eat the slime coat off the other fish. ( NOT all Algae eaters though) for example the Chinese Algae Eater WILL eat the slime coat off the other fish when it is fully grown.
No they shouldnt. Gold fish are usaly fine with anything in there tanks. Believe it or not but most of the time its recomend to have a snail in your tank to eat the slime
Synthesize a king slime and a king cure slime. King Slime=(slime+slime)+(slime+slime) King Cureslime=Megalodon+(any slime, B rank I think) GOOD LUCK!
"Slime" in French is "la slime" or "le slime."
