Hey there, Its probably its 'swim bladder' This is an organ that keeps it boyancy right. This organ can be affected by the fish eating to much and swallowing air in the process. And it could also just be because of poor quality food. If i was u id change the food asap. Go for a high quality fish food and never buy ur foods from a supermarket or discount store. Normally the more u pay the better the food. Here are some brands to look out for which are really good. Wardley, nutrafin and tetra brand. They are all really good but can be expensive at times but u should be able to feed ur fish less because high quality food fills them up more. If ur feeding ur fish flakes, keep to flakes just switch brands. If ur feeding them crumbles, stick to crumbles and so forth. And I just remembered that it could be a possiblity that there is too much ammonia and the water needs changing but because i dont know if uve cleaned it regularly i cant really say mate. I hope this helps :o)
if its a fantail gup. yea tetras and gups go together
No, you should only keep goldfish with goldfish (with very few exceptions such as a bristlenose pleco, apple snail or weather loach for example)
To keep the bait from floating on the surface of the water.
Perhaps you mean 'Clamped fin'. Clamped fin is caused either by parasites or poor water quality. If you mean 'Fantail'. A fantail is a fish with 2 tails instead of one. They are harder to keep than goldfish but are much prettier
They have organs called swim bladders, which balance the fish and keep them from floating.
Poking the eyes releases the gases which causes the carcass to sink to the bottom. This prevents fish floating attracting birds.
I've had one fantail for the last 4 years. They are a difficult fish to keep as they have ongoing swimbladder problems and pick up internal infections very easily. Do not even contemplate on putting 4 of them in a tank smaller than 150 litres. They need a lot of room and I only have one, and its in a 112 litre tank with 3 other large type coldwater fish. If you have not already bought these fish, I personally would suggest considering different fish. They are hard to keep and are subject to bullying by other fish. Hope I've helped!
Well fish such as goldfish go in cold water and fish such as angel fish (tropical) go in warm water. Try not to mix them up as one fish may not live. If you would like to get goldfish don't mix them with fantail fish with 2 split tails as the goldfish will attack. So keep fantails with their own kind. Hope I helped.
As long as your fish is not upside down all the time, it is not dead. Most likely your fish has a bladder disorder and it cannot help but float upside down.
equal to the weight of the water displaced by the ship, which is 10 tons. This buoyant force helps keep the ship afloat by pushing it upwards.
they only grow to the size of their tanks, so if you only have a small tank they will stay small. you need water treatments (one to equalise the bad stuff and one to add fish friendly stuff) and they will nip other fish and fan tails get nipped at my normal ones. they think the tails are food :) fish look after themselves, just change the water
It could be lots of things: the water chemistry, the water temp, the amount of food, the type of food, the size of the tank, the tank may not be properly cycled, too much or too little light.
