How do you make hashbrown?

For Shredded Hashbrowns

-Skin the potatoes

-Take a greater, and shred the potatoes

-Wash them (optional)

-Dry them (do this by squeezing the juice out with a paper towel, this prevents "mush potatoes"

-Put around 2 tablespoons of oil in the pan (or enough to coat it)

-Wait until the oil is hot enough (when you drop a bit of potatoe, it should sizzle around it and make it "swim" around)

-Put your shedded potatoes into the pan (you can do this in clumps or spreaded out

-wait until the bottom is golden brown (or desired browning) and flip them

I made some this morning and they tasted SO good! if you want, you can add in pepper, salt, or anything else in the begining to the mix.

You do not have to boil the potatoes.

To make hash brown (fried potato cake):

Grate six raw potatoes and mix with one finely chopped onion and one lightly beaten egg. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

Melt a good knob of butter in a frying pan (skillet) on medium-hot heat and spread the potato mixture in the pan. Cook until golden-brown and turn (you can slide it onto a plate, invert the pan over the plate and turn it all over so the uncooked side falls back into the pan).

Slide back onto the plate and serve cut into wedges.

Or you can cut the hash brown in the pan, if it's okay to use a knife in your cookware, and serve from the pan.

You could fry one egg per person and serve on top of each slice of potato cake, or fry bacon until crisp and serve with the egg and potato cake.
