Why can't you eat frostbitten hamburger?

You can cook a frostbitten hamburger, or use it in another dish, but it will never taste quite right. Most of us end up tossing meat that has been frostbitten since it has probably been in the freezer too long.

Freezer burn changes the taste and texture of meat. You could eat it, if you really wanted to. It won't hurt you. It just won't be very appetizing.
