I'm not sure if I understand your question correctly. I dry a LOT of fruits and vegetables, as well as can and freeze. When I dry items, I STORE them in air tight containers. This allows you to keep them longer. If they were out in the open ( in a bowl on the table . . . ? ) insects could get to them, humidity in the air could cause them to spoil, and the sunlight could cause them to fade and lose nutrients. So storing them in air tight containers allows you to keep them longer.

Oats are harvested when they have turned a golden-brown colour and the seeds are hard when a farmer tries to squeeze the seed in between their fingers. This is when this crop can be harvested for grain (which is collecting the seeds). In North America, oats are usually harvested in the autumn, which is around September into October. Oats harvested as green-feed or silage (chopped and fermented animal feed, stalks, leaves and seeds) are done so around four to six weeks before the crop would usually be harvested for grain. It is stored and fed later to livestock.
Flax meal should be stored in the freezer and used up within a few weeks.
Another name for a seeds stored food is the endosperm.
Seed pods from mahogany trees should be harvested once they turn brown, harden, and crack. Harvested seeds should only be taken while still on the trees, not from the ground.
Monggo seeds, also known as mung beans, are harvested when the pods turn brown and dry on the plant. Farmers typically cut the plants at the base and bundle them, allowing them to dry further if necessary. Once dried, the pods are threshed to separate the seeds from the pods, and the seeds are then cleaned and stored for use. Proper timing and handling during harvest are crucial to ensure good seed quality.
Coriander seeds should be stored in an airtight container in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. This helps maintain their freshness and flavor for a longer period of time.
Pea seeds stored in the freezer should be good for 5 years or longer.

Yes, flax seeds should be stored in the refrigerator to maintain their freshness and prevent them from going rancid.
Yes, sunflowers have seeds. The seeds are harvested by cutting the flower head and allowing it to dry. Once dried, the seeds are removed and can be eaten raw, roasted, or used to make oil. Sunflower seeds are a good source of nutrients like protein, healthy fats, and vitamins.
Grass seed is harvested by cutting the grass when the seeds are mature, then threshing to separate the seeds from the rest of the plant. The seeds are then cleaned, dried, and sorted by size and quality before being packaged for distribution to customers.
