No. Alpha Centauri is the nearest star system to our own solar system at just over 4 light years away.. The Milky Way Galaxy is an enormous collection of stars about 100,000 light years across. It includes our solar system, Alpha Centauri, and about 200 billion other stars.
We live IN the milky way galaxy...There isn't a such thing as living ON the milky way galaxy....
Yes. They are the same thing. It is either called the milky way or the milky way galaxy. It can also be called just the Galaxy.
For one thing, the Milky Way is a spiral galaxy, which is the most abundant type of galaxy.
No. The Milky Way is the name of one particular galaxy; the one we live in. There are many more galaxies in the universe.
There is no such thing as a "milky way solar system". The Milky Way is the galaxy we live in; a galaxy is a collection of billions of stars, i.e., billions of solar systems.
PLANETSUS and earth
No, there are thought to be other galaxies that are just as big, even bigger. The milky way isn't the only thing in the universe; even the universe itself is larger than the milky way. The Milky Way isn't even the biggest galaxy in our "neighborhood", galactically speaking. The Andromeda Galaxy appears to be about twice as big (though the jury's still out on which has more mass; the Milky Way may have a slight edge there).
First of all, there has never yet been any such thing known to earth as a starship. If an object left Cape Canaveral at 1/2 the speed of light, and maintained a straight-line course toward the place where Alpha Centauri would be when it got there, it would reach Alpha Centauri after the clock on the launch-pad had ticked off 8.8 years.
Yes: 1) THERE IS A CHOCLATE BAR THAT IS CALLED THAT AND IT IS VERY TASTY 2) WE LIVE IN THE MILKY WAY GALAXY IT IS A BARRED SPIRAL GALAXY AND IS MADE OF MOSTLY OLD STARS BUT ALSO YOUNG STARS
Everyone should know the milky way we live in a spiral Galaxy. lol if someone doesn't know that the are jacked up. God made the earth. he knows every thing if you have anymore questions ask God.
NO WAY!!Canis majors is the biggest thing in the milky way galaxy. In fact It is so big that it is actually the center of another galaxy called the colliding galaxy. It has a big yellow dot in the middle witch is Canis Majors
If there is, we will not know unless they come to us, we don't even know if there is any other forms of life apart from that on Earth in the Milkyway yet, so lets not run before we can walk. addition: Life as in what? Any kind of living thing? An algae? A fungus? A human or other higher thinking being? Unfortunately, probably a question that no one will ever know. The milky way is HUGE. Our closest star (besides our sun) is Proxima Centauri. If you traveled the speed of light (which is impossible), you would have to travel 4.2 years. The closest galaxy to our Milky Way is the Canis Major Dwarf galaxy (which is IN our galaxy). It would take you 42,000 years at the speed of light to get there. There are millions and millions and millions of stars in our OWN galaxy. To think that there isn't life on other planets orbiting one of those billions and billions of stars that AREN'T in our galaxy is slim. Chances are that there is life outside our milky way.
