Yes, they can sleep with lights on. I keep a light on my chickens through the winter to try to get them to lay the entire winter.

no it does not, it just makes them think there is still daylight which is good if u want eggs.

Chickens do not need light at night. If the chicken coop is really noisy after dark, a yard light will help calm the birds down.
