Syrian hamsters are especially good at getting away from their cage because of their height, and dwarf hamsters can squeeze through tiny places. In general, hamsters are VERY good escape artists so you have to make sure there aren't any "escapable places" for them.

escape artists do need to be fit
i guess, hamsters are escape artists. you would have to put the coroplast up as high as the grids. i wouldn't with a dwarf and if you have other animals they will probably jump into it unless you make a cage lid for it.
Put them in a stinking fish aquarium. those stupid little escape artists will escape the cruddy little wire ones. i had 6 hamsters every one in a wire hamster cage escaped.
i think robo hamsters because they are very active. Once they escape, its very hard to catch them.

No, they'll chew through it and escape.
Hamsters like to chew on the bars of their cage, if they discover a place where they can get out by doing this, they will escape. Perhaps the actual door of it's cage isn't very secure.
Of course, human. Your kind cannot escape our furry wrath. ~The Collective Hamsters of Earth
if its a dwarf it can escape unless it's in a glass cage
they are major escape artists and are very smart.
