Yes, unless it has a custard filling (which MUST be refrigerated) and it is protected from any dust, a buttercream frosted cake will only improve by being left out overnight.

The PCM uses the readings from the O2 sensor(s) to judge how much left over oxygen is in the exhaust. It uses that information to adjust how much fuel to give the engine.
If you are doing a 21st birthday and you want to make a 21st birthday cake my view is just to make as much as you can and then if you have any left over then just put them if fairy cakes! Happy Birthday!
