The Hindus and Cows Hindus do not eat beef; it is against their religion. They regard cows as holy. So, obviously, they would not eat beef.
But some Hindus now a days eat it.
End note: As cow is sacred so Hindus should also stop eating dairy products like milk etc.. because in the dairy farm Cows get extremely tortured ! So just not eating beef doesn't help the holy mother. Hindus, please stop consuming milk products too and end the hypocrisy !
Some Indians are Hindus, and Hindus do not believe in eating beef as it is a sacred animal.
Devout Hindus do not eat beef or any derivitive of beef , such as suet or gelatin made with beef parts.

Hindus can eat a variety of food, however, meat is kind of restricted. Vegetables are always better. All kinds of vegetables are fine! :) Meat is not totally banned, they still eat chicken or lamb. Totally avoid beef, and pork! Oh, and obviously things like rice, chappattis etc. Wheat stuff..... (BTW: I know these things, because I am an Indian)
People who follow Islam and Judaism eat beef - they it is not prohibited from eating beef. However, in Hinduism - cow is worshiped as one of the Gods and hence Hindus are prohibited from eating beef.
