Why do fish sleep with open eyes?
The purpose of the eyelid is to keep the eye moist. Fish live in water, and so the eye does't need moistening, and so fish don't have eyelids. Thus they sleep with their eyes open because they have no way to close them. For Starters, fish don't sleep, but they do go into a resting period. If fish slept they would not close their eyelids because they don't have any!Thank you
