Do you need an incubator for the eggs to hatch if it is cold outside?

Depends on if you have a broody hen. If the hen is brooding then you do not need to incubate, if you have no natural brooder then yes, an incubator is needed.

Do you need to refrigerate fresh chicken eggs?

yes they can, but only if the egg hasn't started its growing cycle yet. so a chicken can lay an egg and it can go cold for a few days, but once it starts growing (via incubator or broody chicken) it musnt go cold. if your using broody chickens to hatch the eggs let the chicken off no longer than 20mins a day to eat, drink water, dust bath and poop. PS the egg must be fertilized of corse. hope that helped brad.

How long does a hen egg take to hatch?

Chicken eggs require 21 days at 101F to hatch. When trying to hatch chicken eggs, give them a few extra days before throwing out eggs that have not hatched as they may have been cold and needed a day or so to come up to incubation temperature.

How can you tell if a bobwhite quail is alive or dead or about to hatch?

Well since I have a Bobwhite Quail egg at home, when it is dead it is cold even when it has been in an incubator. When it is about to hatch you will hear peeping inside the egg. If it is alive than it will be warm. To keep it warm and alive you have to turn the egg 3 times a day. It takes about 23 to 24 days to hatch if you have cared for it correctly. However it may hatch early.

How long do you have to keep a raw egg for it to hatch into a baby chicken?

A raw egg that has been cooled, put in a carton and set in the refrigerated section of the grocery store for you to buy will not hatch because of the cold temperatures that have pretty well killed the embryo inside. Embryos need warmth to be able to grow into baby chicks, and these "raw eggs" have been subject to cold.
