I am not sure where to get fertilized pigeon eggs, but why not look into getting chicken or duck eggs. You can usually get them from a local farmer for free as long as you promise to return the young after they hatch. You are getting the same experience for free, or next to free! And Yes, chicken and duck eggs can hatch in an incubator.
Many cultures prefer them to chicken eggs. They have a bit stronger flavor, but are quite nutritous. And only fertilized eggs will hatch, anyway.
It takes 28 days for duck eggs to hatch.....and it takes 21 days for baby chicks to hatch and you can only put 12 eggs under neath a chicken.. no more then 12 or the mother chicken will throw it out!!! you dont want that to happen??? and you can put 32 eggs under neath a big white duck thnxxx have fun hatchin eggs lol bye:P :0
yes
The chicken egg will likely hatch first. Quail eggs hatch in 21 to 23 days. Chicken eggs hatch in 21.
:: Answer place here (by supervisor) from discussion page;: That is way to many eggs for one duck to hatch. 8-12 is about the largest number of eggs for a nest. The mother will more than likely leave the duck eggs when most of the chicks hatch. I am not sure if you remove the chicks if she will stay sitting each duck is different. Some will stay with the nest to try to hatch the rest of the eggs but other will leave the nest completely. If it were me I would decide now which I wanted most, the ducklings or the chicks. : When ever you mess with a ducks nest she can give up on the nest and not hatch any of them after she has been sitting.
On average, 28 days give or take a few. Some hatch sooner, some later, but after day 35, I would recommend throwing out any that haven't hatched to prevent any possible rotten ones from busting open and stinking up the place.
No, they do not.
Incubators can be used to hatch chicken eggs.
A duckchick? lol
A chicken egg takes 21 days to hatch. It may take slightly more or less depending on the temperature and breed. Goose and duck eggs take as few days longer.
