It was proven on the tv show "mythbusters", but having said that........it's only very temporary and should be fixed the proper way ASAP. Pepper works too for pinholes. If you care much about your vehicle, don't use these cheap versions to temporarily fix a mechanical issue. It's best to just get another radiator, used or not.
It could be water pump, leaky radiator, hoses, head gasket, or just about anywhere else that the coolant circulates. You'll need to get under and find out where it's leaking.
The radiator will need to be replaced. Sometimes, it may seem that the radiator itself is leaking but it could be the radiator "hose" that is leaking. In this case, the radiator hose needs to be replaced and clamped tightly.
