Per one site, the fruit of the Rubber Tree, or Ficus elastica, is "barely edible." Per another site, it is not edible. The first reference is probably correct because the fruit of the Banyan, or Ficus benghalensis, is also described as "barely edible," and would be poor to use even during a famine.

∙ 10y agoYes, technically people can eat rubber. Eating rubber can be dangerous or even deadly depending on how much rubber you eat. Eating rubber is not recommended because of the ingredients found in rubber.
