When either bananas or strawberries are used in pies, they are usually not cooked or baked. Instead, the pie crust is baked separately. Fresh raw strawberries and/or bananas are then arranged directly in the baked crust or on top of the cream filling. A clear, thickened sweet glaze might also be poured over the fruit.
