Yes, my husband stepped on a zebra mussel and received a deep cut in his left foot. He had to go through two cipro antibiotics to get rid of the red starting to go up his leg. Pus continued. I was told to keep his cut open to get out all the pus. My husband asked me to look through his microton and I found what looks like the fibers that the mussel sends out to attach itself to a rock. I do not know what to do. He has suger d. and RA and this wound is making his sugar sky rockect.
Be careful and if you go to the doctor, tell her/him the cut is deep and you would like to have it examined closely.
YES THEY CAN. zebra mussels have razor sharp shells and many beaches that have zebra mussels will require you to wear water shoes. Up in North Bay I got 8 stitches for a very very deep cut on the bottom of my left foot most likely from a zebra mussel with several cuts on my right foot.
No, unless you cut your foot and get an infection.
The doctor told the patient he had a bacterial infection in his foot. He has a bacterial infection in his hand caused by a cut.
If you do not receive medical attention it can definitely be fatal due to loss of blood and infection.
He has a swollen foot and needs to have surgery.
if a diabetic gets a cut on their foot, it could kill that diabetic. this is because of poor circulation in the foot (something attributed to diabetes). it cant heal fast enough to stop/prevent infection.
Clean the cut with mild soap and water, apply an antibiotic ointment, and cover it with a bandage to prevent infection. Monitor for any signs of infection, such as increased redness, swelling, or discharge, and seek medical attention if needed. Keep the wound clean and dry as it heals.

Well since a lesion is a cut or wound, no. Not unless it was an infection that has hard pieces that could cut the brain.
