I used to be able to buy just the hard boiled egg whites without the yolk. I think I used to get it from Sysco or some other food supplier. I don't know how they did it but I can't seem to find it anymore....any ideas?
If hard boiled eggs are undercooked, the yolks will be runny or soft instead of firm and fully cooked. The whites may also be slightly translucent instead of completely opaque.
Actually scrambled eggs are more popular than hard boiled eggs and soft boiled eggs. And hard boiled eggs are as popular as soft boiled eggs
Yes, because there are flatter spots on the shells. It is easier when the eggs are hard-boiled, so the yolks don't shift around.
Yes, whole eggs can be hard boiled.
Green yolks in hard-boiled eggs are a result of overcooking, not the cooking method used. This occurs when sulfur and iron compounds in the egg react, creating ferrous sulfide, which gives the greenish color. To prevent this, avoid boiling eggs too long and immerse them in cold water after cooking to stop the cooking process.

This is a fairly minor point of usage, but if you say hard boiled eggs you could be interpretted as saying that the eggs are both hard and boiled, when what you really mean is that the eggs were hard-boiled, which is to say, boiled for a longer time than they would be if you wanted soft-boiled eggs. So you can use the hyphen.
