I had no problem placing my male betta in my 10 gallon tank with both male and female guppies although the fantail guppies got their tails nipped a little.He became chummy with the female pot belly molly.I think it really depends on the betta.I would put it in the tank and watch for a while before you kept it there.

∙ 15y agoTechnically, if the tank provides enough room so that the fish aren't crowded (one inch of fish body length per-gallon is considered ideal) one male beta can be kept in a tank with guppies. However, if the guppies are of the ornate and fancy variety with considerable finage I might be cautious and have a back-up plan. However, I've seen it done and there are a number of aquarium books saying that its alright.

∙ 14y agoMost fish will eat any small fish that they can fit in their mouth. A Betta will eat a baby guppy but could not eat a fully grown one.

∙ 13y agoi have 3 bettas, 2 neon tetras, and 2 guppies in the same tank. NO PROBLEMS. so the answer is yes. depending o the tank size. (5 gallons or up should be good)
