It depends on what you are worried about. Before 1970 the seam on cans was sealed with solder which had a lot of lead in it which leached into the food. Also, the inside of the can was galvanized to prevent rusting which gave the food a metallic taste. Those are no longer a problem.
Some people warn that the inside of refrigerators are a hotbed of bacteria and the leftover stuff in the can has bacteria in it and putting it in the fridge makes a bacteria festival. But this applies whether in the leftover is in the can or a dish.
As for myself I put plastic wrap over the mouth of the can and keep it in the fridge no longer than three days after opening.
It can cause bacteria and cause germs to food or drink and could damage your fridge or freezer.
It is better to only put hot food into a fridge after it has cooled. A lot of hot food would alter the coolness inside the fridge and cause the motor to start running when it didn't really need to.
Yes, you can put canned food in the fridge.
they put their food in their fridge
Heating food will destroy any pathogens in it. Cooling it back down doesn't cause these pathogens to grow again, but they can if there is a source in the fridge from which they can spread to this new food. Refrigeration is only used to keep food from spoiling for a longer period of time rather than simply leaving it out. It can only encourage bacteria growth if the interior (and food) is cool AND humid.
If the fridge is too hot, it can cause food to spoil more quickly and decrease the overall effectiveness of the appliance. If the fridge is too cold, it can freeze food and potentially damage the items stored within. Maintaining the correct temperature is important for food safety and the efficiency of the fridge.
We put them in a fridge
lol...put it in the fridge!
will it hurt or spoil meat if you take out of the oven and while it is still hot put it into the fridge?
No, putting hot tea in the fridge will not cool it down quickly. It is better to let it cool naturally before refrigerating to avoid temperature shock to the fridge.
Let it get to room temperature before you put it in the refrigerator. It doesn't take that much longer to cool and if you put it in the fridge hot it will get everything in there warmer.
put it in a Coleman
