Yes, especially things like milk etc, that is the last sell by date, not use date. which means that if the milk says June 7 it will be good, provided it is stored and kept cool as required for at least 7 days past June 7.
I use it all the time on food It is for FOOD
otherwise YOU DIE
The "best by" date on food products indicates the date until which the product is expected to be at its best quality, while the "use by" date is the date by which the product should be consumed for safety reasons.
By freezing food before the use by date will allow you to enjoy some of your perishable items past the use by date. However you cannot store food indefinitely, frozen food can go bad after a while and obtain freezer burn.
Means you have to the product by that date. For example: you buy milk on this date: 3/6/12. and the used by date is 3/13/12. that means that you have to use the milk before 3/13/12 or it might go bad.
the use by date is that is advised to be eaten by... this does not mean to say that is has to be eaten if it is fine if it going moldy it is rotten so throw it away :)
maybe shortly after the expiration date
The "use by" date on food products indicates the last day the item is recommended for consumption for safety reasons. The "best by" date, on the other hand, suggests the peak quality of the product, but it can still be consumed after that date.
you need use by date as if there wasnt one you could become very poorly because the mould on the food or drink :)
Most coupons do have an expiration date. For the most part coupons do have an expiration date that you have to use the coupon by or you will be unable to use them.
In the United States, a "sell-by" date identifies the date by which the item should no longer be offered for sale. That should allow the consumer enough time to use the product. It is not an "expiration" or "use-by" date. If a store is still offering food that is beyond the "sell-by", I suggest you contact the local health department with jurisdiction.
A lot of foods have a best by date. Usually all of the food in cans, bottles, boxes, and bags have a best by date. Food that doesn't have something protecting over it like fruit and vegetables doesn't have a best by date usually.
