Failure to use one of these additives could result in damage to the fishes gills and protective slime layer. Chlorine is a gas and will usually evaporate off after a few hours particularly in a tropical tank with a filter running.

The rule for keeping fish healthy is "1 inch of fish needs 1 gallon of water".its not aroma its amonia and goldfish have it, its puts it off and if theres enough of it it waill kill the other fishAmonia is produced when any kind of creature is living in water (not just goldfish). It is a deadly poison and will kill most living things. That is why you need to change the water urgently. Most smart people use a properly set up filter in their fish tank(s).
