After fleeing Mecca for Medina, Muhammad faced a Meccan force bent on destroying the city along with the so called "Prophet." Muhammad took shelter in Medina, knowing that if they faced the soldiers of Mecca in one on one battle they would lose. He knew that the enemy would have to attack from the northwest, and also knew that Medina was protected on three sides by lava flows. Muhammad then made trenches against the exposed area, and one by one took down any enemy soldier who tried to cross. The enemy soon made a retreat, giving Muhammad victory in the Battle at Medina.
