Yes they make great pets. They also are fragile chameleons, if you want to handle your pet Jackson chameleon make sure you sit on the floor with him/her they might fall. Make sure you do not put him/her by a mirror he can freak out, get stressed out or bite. make him/her feel safe and Jackson chameleons make very good pets :) My name is ''Noah Juhl'' I am 8 years old, and you can send me any Question you want to know :)

Jackson chameleons
I have a number of different species - including panther chameleons, horned chameleons, Jackson's chameleon and 'common' chameleons.
they live 4-6 years and male chameleons live 8 years and no one knows why female chameleons live shorter then male
no there are a huge population
the chameleons live in a forest
Jackson's chameleons can live 5 to 10 years in captivity, with proper care. (In the hands of a beginning reptile keeper who has not done proper research, they will probably not make it to 3 months). Chameleons should be kept only by intermediate to advanced reptile keepers.
i would probably say a lizard in the wild
No chameleons are not illegal in California. There are hundreds of reptile shows throughout the state and almost all sell chameleons. Probably your most common would be the Jackson's and Veiled Chameleons
Yes a few do.
They do live in East Africa where there are grass lands, but chameleons are adapted to live in trees or shrubs not grass.
