Barracuda does not lay eggs. They are pelagic spawners. That means they gather together and shed their eggs and sperm which fertilizes into egg carrying the fry. They begin to spawn when the water gets warmer. The young fries after birth live in the weedy sea banks until they grow big enough to defend themselves.
