No! Do not treat a sofa with Lysol to get rid of lice. Try using 100% Pure Tea Tree Oil and water. Use 10 Drops per 2oz of water in a spray bottle. Spray everywhere that has been possibly infected with lice or their nits (eggs). Let sit for a half hour to an hour, then vaccum. The more you vacuum, the more you cut down on nits and possible re-infestation. Also it is a good idea to take stuffed animals and decorative pillows and tightly bag them for 2-3 weeks or until lice are completely gone.
To get rid of lice on your head, here's something that worked for me and my family. Take 2 teaspoons of Tea Tree Oil and Mix with 7 Tablespoons of Olive Oil in a sqeezy bottle, similar to those used in dye kits. Saturate Hair, leave in overnight. Nits slide off easily with Olive Oil. Wash hair with baby shampoo then comb with nit comb. You can put conditioner in to make it easier to comb through hair if you want.
You can also just use Tea Tree Oil and Water too. Same idea as listed above for spraying the house. Only, saturate hair, put on shower cap, leave on for an hour. Saturate again, comb out nits/lice. Wash with baby shampoo or even a shampoo with tea tree and peppermint oils. Up to you.
No, it will ruin the furniture.Head lice can not survive long off the human head. Along with a treatment for the lice infestation on the human head, clothes, towels, bedding, combs and brushes, which came in contact with the infested individual, can be disinfected either by leaving them outside for at least 3 days or by washing them at 60°C(140 degrees F) for 30 minutes. An insecticidal treatment of the house and furniture is not necessary. If you are worried about furniture vacuum it well and do not use it for a week and all the lice will have died.
No.
This only loosens the lice you need a special comb to remove them
Mayo will work
You get the shampoo and put it on your head. Fleas shampoo may not work, get one for lice and get the one with the special comb so you can get the nits out of your hair
Sharing brushes/combs, wearing anothers hat, lying on an infected persons' pillow or just hanging out with somebody that does have head lice. It is head to head contact..... stay away from somebody scratching!
No, real mayonnaise is better. http://lacetoleather.com/ridlice.html
Yes it does. works just as good as the mixture on your hair. Vinegar, rubbing alcohol and water.
to be truthful with you, i have head lice right now you can use mayonaise. good luck peeps! :)use the treatments about every 2-4 days of 6 weeks and use a nit comb to try to get rid of the parasitic nits(eggs of the lice)
No. Fortunately, curing that is a pretty simple and quick process.
No, it makes no difference, but it's more work to get them out of longer hair.
An alternative treatment for head lice is tea tree oil, sometimes called melaleuca oil. Tea tree oil appears to work well in treating head lice that have developed resistance to other preparations.
