i believe that a dog drinking from a salt pool could eventually make the dog very poorly, as this could lead to the dog becoming dehydrated. and eventually could get salt poisoning, i personally would encourage the dog to drink fresh water and if it had been drinking salt water syringe water into its mouth to try and dilute down the effects of the salt.
