Female hamster bleeding from their butt?

If the hamster seems to be peeing out blood and it only goes on for like 2-3 days its probably a sort of period. It happens to hamsters a couple of times in their lives. However, if it goes on longer, or it's butt seems to be bleeding all the time , not just when it pees, it could be a kidney disorder. Go to the vet if this is the case.

If your hamster is a girl she may have a tumour on her ovaries which can cause her to bleed. I experienced this with my first hamster and the cancer was un noticable due to the fact that we could feel no lumps. However when she started bleeding, a trip to the vets confirmed she had cancer and had to be put down as it was uncurable. It is very sad but your hamster must be checked out by the vet to ensure everything is ok.

It probably means they are having their period, just like humans.

She's menstruating, it's totally normal and you shouldn't worry.
