Try as many foods as you can until you find something he/she likes and is healthy. My hamster is picky, so I have personal experience. My hamster doesn't like grapes, bananas or apples. She does like cherries though, so that's what I give her. I hope I helped! :D
Hamsters can usually go without food and water as long as people (about 3 days).Instead of leaving them without food & water in your local pet stores you can buy what is called a vacation bar. You give it to the hamster before leaving. As for water, Give a big fresh bowl of water and they should be fine. Thanks :) good luck
it either starts to look skinny, or seems to be scavenging for food. But either way, hamsters LOVE food, hungry or not if u hold out your palm it will most likely eat, or it is still full
A hamster can eat most fruits and veg. If it is poisonous to a hamster they will know to avoid it. Lettice is the only food I would advise you to avoid as it can be known to give a hamster diohorrea.
If you're all out of hamster food (I suggest you get some soon), you can feed your hamster carrots, lettuce, any vegetable. Stay away from foods other than this. You don't want to take any risks with your hamster. Also, you don't know if your hamster has any serious allergies. At all costs, do what I said. But, if you can help it, get some more hamster food! It's the easy and safe route to go.
set a trap with food to catch it... make a "staircase" of a few books leading up to a hamster treat or food, put a bin on the other side of the "top" and when the hamster gets the treat, scoop him into the bin.
It lies down all day and it doesn't touch its food.
As much as it needs, he will know when to stop.
I don't really know how much food they can put in their cheek pouches, but i do know that they can hold up to 20 pounds of food.
You dont need to teach a hamster anything. They know what they need to know already. If you mean that you want them to be more relaxed and more loving, Then you need to show them more attention daily, and let them build up trust with you.
Interact with your hamster everyday for at least an hour or two. Let your hamster know you're not a predator by offering him/her food from your hand and petting them.
my guess: Probably when they try to search for food.
Well, the hamster will probably not know whats going on, but that is still a good idea. For gifts you might give a new food dish, a cage accessory or a ratatouille food thingy For cake I suggest the hamster doesn't eat anything or blow out candles. But it would still be a good idea. I think the best gift would be a ball, or a cage makeover. You could scrub the cage, soak it in warm water, buy a new food bowl, and give your hamster their favorite treat.
