fill the sink with water but not to much water as it will drown the poor thing then put the gerbil in the sink get a cup and put a little bit of water in it and pour the water over it dry it with towel and keep it warm when not fully dried
A gerbil dust bath is actually making use of chinchilla dust and sands, available at places like Petsmart and Petco. Pour a couple of inches of the sand into a bowl and place your gerbil in it. The gerbil should run and roll around, kicking up dust, making a mess, but getting clean. The fine dust captures dirt and grease that may be on their fur and leaves their coat shiny and smooth! It keeps their coat clean by removing grease and grub from it. Gerbils should always have a special place for digging in which helps to keep their fur nicely maintained. For a dust bath, use chinchilla bathing sand in a container. They will dig and roll around in it and it will keep their fur clean Please note that this is the only type of bath you should give your gerbils, as water will rinse off natural oils that insulate the gerbil and it could get sick or chill to death!
yes gerbils tend to sleep more and maybe eat less but they are like all mammals they have a thick coat of fur and that keeps them warm but if u are worried about them frezzing then add more bedding
A furry coat is a coat with fur or if your talking about coated fur its just fur.
A bath is a good choice if the fur is part of a living creature. If the fur is part of a fur coat or fur rug the cleaning method will depend on the type of fur so it may be best to contact a furrier or taxidermist.

THey are mammals and they do shed their fur, but you won't notice it.
Gerbils inherit a variety of traits, primarily related to their coat color, fur texture, and size. Common coat colors include agouti, black, and various shades of gray or white, which are influenced by specific genes. Additionally, their behavior, such as social tendencies and activity levels, can also be inherited. Genetic variations can lead to differences in health and longevity as well.
