The latest company to own the rights to Ben Hurs candies is Ferrara Pan, but they are not manufacturing them.

A little bit of history here: Ben Hurs were originally manufactured by Wunderle (the company that gave us Candy Corn). Wunderle was later bought out by Heide, which was later acquired by Farleys & Sathers, which most recently was acquired by Ferrara Pan.

Ben Hurs were commonly described as an anise or licorice mint, but in fact they had a unique, almost floral flavor and scent. The old Sen Sen confection (which is still made, remarkably!) is probably closest in flavor to Ben Hurs.

Go to the Ferrara Pan website, and leave a message asking that they either put these wonderful breath mints back in production, or post the recipe!
