How do you tell when a sugar cookie done?

When baking most sugar cookies, the cook can tell they are done by light browning on the bottom and edges. Some delicate sugar cookies should not be browned. Then one must bake the cookies according to the recommended time given in the recipe.

They should be lightly golden on the bottom. If you want a crunchier cookie, you can cook them longer but if you want a softer cookie, cook them about 1 or 2 minute less than the cooking time and take them out to cool. They may look a little wet but let them sit and they will slightly harden on the outside, and remain soft in the inside.

Test it with a tooth pick. Put the tooth pick into the center of the cake, if it comes out clean then your cake is done. If the tooth pick comes out with batter or cake bits still on it then give it another 10-15 minutes.
