well you see, there isn't any thing that can actually get rid of it. there are, however, ways to make it better until it goes away.

1) throw up- it may not be enjoyable, but it will help get rid of the food that is causing your stomach to hurt. many people can force themselves to throw up by burping and pushing the stomach rapidly (eww... sorry its life). others, have to cause the gag reflex to kick in by putting their fingers on the back of their throat, but that is VERY unpleasant, and HIGHLY dangerous... make sure you KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING!

2) HYDRATE- dehydration is a major symptom of food poisoning, especially if you are throwing up. be sure to drink PLENTY of water, and also a drink with electrolytes like Vitamin Water, or Gatorade.

3) eat minimal- be sure to eat, but not that much. eating too much while going through food poisoning can cause you to throw up it all up again.

4) DO NOT TAKE MEDS- unless directed by a doctor, DO NOT take meds such as Advil, peptobysmal, tums, etc. for you WILL throw them up and it will be a total waste of money, and it could even make your stomach hurt.

5) sleep- sleep is the body's best way of healing!

I hope this was helpful! but before i say good bye, make sure u actually have food poisoning, and not the stomach flu....

1) fever

2) throwing up

3) diarrhea

4) chills

5) stomach pain

6) weakness

7) body aches

AND, one last thing... go to the doctor if....

1) throw up or diarrhea has blood in it

2) fever is 101.5 F for a stable amount of time

3) severe abdominal pain

4) issues with swallowing

5) trouble breathing

6) inability to keep food or beverage down for 24 hours.

hope this was helpful, and get well soon!
