excessive amounts of candy can have long term damaging effects. Diabeties being one of them as well as cavities. Candy in moderation dosn't have adverse effects unless they have an allergy to cocoa found in chocolate. Most teens, if exposed to sugar earlier in life, can handle candy without getting hyper as they have a tolerance to it.
