im not sure what the exact answer is but crabs aren't mammals. They are both crustaceans, class malacostraca
Crabs and Crayfishes both belong to phylum arthropoda and the same class known as Crustacea (hard exoskeletons). The only difference between them can be that crabs are a bigger version of crayfishes and they are able to live both in water and land but crayfishes are only marine.
