Another view: I honestly don't know how long they can live, but they can easily return to a tank that is not kept clean. Try to figure out what attracted the mites to your tank in the first place, and correct that so it won't happen again. Mites can be extremely painful and dangerous for your crabs. A good ocean-salt bath will kill the mites on your crabs (make sure it is an approved ocean salt, not table salt or sea-salt meant for humans, which is deadly to hermit crabs because of additives). Follow this link to get excellent information on getting rid of mites and keeping them out of your crabitat:
some crabs live up to a week of not eating it depends on how big your crab is. if it is smaller it can live longer with not eating if its larger it can only go for up 2 4 or 5 days.
about a year because i have a hermit crab and i havent feed it for a year and its still alive
Hi There,
Hermit crabs only live for like a week without it's shell in the wild. A predator or enemy will be able to take off with it because it doesn't have anything to hide in.
In a crabitat it will probably live a few weeks without it's shell because there aren't many predictors or enemies
Hope that helped
:)
not very long; they are very social creatures and love the companion of another hermit crab. so if you don't have 2 or more already, then you should go get another one or two.
They can live up too 20 years with a shell or without a shell
umm that's my question
I have no idea
no, they really need water and food
In captivity, they live 1-2 years.
No, there are some hermit crabs called purple pinchers and they happen to be land crabs.
I think that shrimp live with the hermit crabs.
yes they do live underwater
Hermit crabs have adapted to live in shells, so they will die without a shell. This is because they cant revolutionize over night it taks millions of years.
