it doesnt because it has expired is this a trick question?
NOTE: Update by new author: Hellmann's Mayo shows a "Best if used by" date. Not an expiration date. Opened and then closed and then refrigerated jars/packages last a very long time. Some people like to go by expiration dates or best if used by dates but I prefer the old fashioned method.
Open the container; Smell the product; View the product; Taste a small sample; If all are good then it's most likely safe to consume.
In fact, I just had some Hellmann's Mayo from an Easy Out squeeze container that said "Best if Used By: SEP0913" and today is OCT0714!
I opened the container and smelled it. Smelled like normal mayo. I looked at it. It didn't look watery or dark; it looked normal. I squeezed a small amount out onto my finger; felt like normal mayo consistency; tasted it; tasted absolutely fine.
I added it to my tuna fish and had a lovely lunch. :-)
If something doesn't pass all of the above tests, you may wish to discard it.
The expiration date is there for a reason. If it's a cheesecake which doesn't use preservatives, then the expiration date is probably pretty accurate.
As long as the can is not damaged....for as long as you can think. (Unless it has an expiration date on it!)
Sour cream can last for about 1-2 weeks after the expiration date if stored properly in the refrigerator.
You can eat it 30 days after the expiration date is. No more!!
If the contract has no expiration date then the contract continues till the breach of contract.
Pecans can last for up to 6 months after the expiration date if stored properly in a cool, dry place.
December 1st(is the earliest expiration date) through 5th (is the last possible date of consumtion) 2004
The expiration date of products is an estimate on how long the product will likely last; it is usually illegal to sell products after their expiration date. The product may well last less than the estimated expiration date, or - more likely - longer than that.
Garlic does not have a specific expiration date, but it can last for several months if stored properly in a cool, dry place.
Opened mayonnaise can typically last for about 2 to 3 months in the refrigerator after the expiration date, as long as it has been stored properly and shows no signs of spoilage, such as off odors or changes in texture. It's important to check for any visible signs of mold or unusual separation before use. Always use a clean utensil to avoid contamination. If in doubt, it's best to err on the side of caution and discard it.
Mayonnaise can typically be safely stored in the refrigerator for about 2 to 3 months after opening, as long as it is kept in a sealed container and maintained at a consistent cold temperature. Unopened mayonnaise can last for several months beyond the expiration date if stored in a cool, dry place. Always check for signs of spoilage, such as off odors or changes in texture, before consumption.
