According to the University of Illinois website, an uncut watermelon will stay fresh at room temp for about two weeksafter being harvested.
By practical experience, I just cut open a watermelon that has been sitting in my kitchen floor that I purchased two monthsago. I had taken a vacation, and when I came back I had to clean out my refrigerator, and saw it in my kitchen. Curiously, when I opened the watermelon, there was no noticeable interactions from the environment. No decay, elements of nitrogen interaction, it just looked fine. And when opening it, it still was tasty. So, in hope of a good melon, I'll keep it around and refrigerate the remainder that I did not yet finish initially. Perhaps it would have been a better melon two weeks ago?
That depends on how ripe it is to begin with - at most, a fully ripe watermelon at room temperature will last a day or two (depending on the heat of the room - cooler will make it last longer). If the watermelon is unripe to begin with, it could last upto a week (again, depending upon the heat of the room).
1 week
Why would you cut it unless you were going to eat it??? Anyway, keep it refrigerated and it will probably last as long as you need it to.
This fruit will last about a week if uncut. If cut it will only stay fresh a day or 2. Cutting allows the air to dry it out if it is not plastic wrapped. It tends to become watery if stored in an air tight container.
There is no telling how long a watermelon can be. They come in all different sizes.
Melons do not last long once they become ripe. A whole uncut melon will stay good for 5 to 7 days. If the melon is cut it will last only 3 days.
Yes, you can freeze watermelon seeds for long-term storage.
An uncut onion can last for about a month when stored in a cool, dry place. Once cut, an onion can last for up to a week if stored in the refrigerator in an airtight container.
As long as you don't overdue it, your pony may enjoy some watermelon.
An uncut lemon can last for about one to two weeks at room temperature, but it can stay fresh for up to a month if stored in the refrigerator. Proper storage in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight can help extend its shelf life. If the lemon begins to feel soft or develops any mold, it is best to discard it.
If it feels soft, throw it away. If it doesn't feel soft, puncture the rind with your fingernail. You will feel a snap if the watermelon is still good. Watermelon doesn't really spoil very fast. The inside just becomes more juicy and the texture becomes soft. The market keeps watermelons for several weeks before someone buys them.
A watermelon typically takes about 80-90 days to grow after flowering.
