21 days from the first day conditions are optimum. A constant temperature of 100 F and a humidity of 60% are ideal. Hens will take up to a week to collect a clutch of eggs and then start brooding when enough eggs are collected. Hens will steal eggs laid by other hens to add to her clutch.
A baby chick typically loses its egg tooth within the first few days after hatching. The egg tooth is used to break through the shell during the hatching process, and once the chick is out of the egg, it is no longer needed.
it is about a chick hatching and how it feels when it hatches and before it hatches
We just had a chick that hatched tonight, it started peeping as it was still hatching. Added: It depends on the chick. This morning I had a chick pip a small amount and now it is 4:00 in the evening. It is barely really starting to pip the egg. Another chick that was hatching this morning just came out of the shell about an hour ago. I was worried the little one didn't make it or something. But everything seems just fine.

Hatching is the process in which baby birds (called chicks) come out of the egg they are born in. The chicks have an egg tooth that they use to break out of the egg. Once the chick has broken the eggshell, its egg tooth will fall off. I hope this helps!
It helps it to get out of the egg when it is hatching. It is not a tooth in the proper sense and in most cases it is lost after hatching.
Well there actually the same percentage of a chance. There both birds and they have an equal chance.
Yes, they do. It's bad for the chick to induce hatching yourself.
Emperor penguins come to the Antarctic continent to breed, which lasts from about March to about August -- from laying the egg to hatching the chick.
The chicken egg tooth, also known as the egg tooth or "caruncle," is a small, temporary protrusion on the beak of a chick that helps it break through the eggshell during hatching. This hard structure allows the chick to penetrate the shell and start the process of emerging. After hatching, the egg tooth typically falls off within a few days and is no longer needed.
It may be possible to help a chicken that stops progressing during hatching by carefully assisting it out of the egg. However, this should only be done as a last resort and with caution, as the chick may not be fully developed or may have other health issues that prevent it from hatching naturally. It is important to seek guidance from a knowledgeable source, such as a veterinarian or experienced poultry breeder, before attempting to assist the chick.
My guess would be that it was to weak and couldn't make it out of the shell. It is fairly common for this to happen.
