I just used a package of frozen hamburger meat 93% lean / 7 % fat that was tucked away in my freezer for 4 months in it's original package from the store and at first i was skeptical. There was no freezer burns either on it. But once it thawed out, I made sure it didn't smell bad or ranky. i used it to make meatloaf and it was fine. We ate and we are still alive. Just make sure it when you thaw it out, that it doesn't smell bad or has funny smell to it. You will know if it does.

I have two pounds of hamburger in my refrigerator that are about three days old. They started out frozen so I figure it took a day to thaw. Is it safe to use?
Microwave a frozen hamburger for at least 2-3 minutes per side to ensure it is cooked thoroughly and safe to eat. Use a food thermometer to check that the internal temperature reaches 160F (71C).
To thaw frozen hamburger effectively, place it in the refrigerator overnight or use the defrost setting on the microwave. Avoid thawing at room temperature to prevent bacteria growth.
If it still has crystals on it, it is good. When the electricity goes out for a short time, it makes no difference as long as you keep the door shut. If you have had a storm, stuff the freezer so that there are no spaces and then keep the door closed. It should keep things frozen for a few days. At last gasp, ask the neighbors over for barbeque!
