If the pond is plastic lined or fibreglass all you need to do is make sure the plants are growing OK and then don't overstock. If the pond is made of concrete you will need to check the pH of the water and if it is higher than around pH7.3 you may have to empty and refill it a few times. Adding some acid to the water can help to speed up fixing the concrete and stopping it from making the water too alkaline.
