Generally, you do not want to keep mushrooms for longer than a week. However, the general method of checking that your mushrooms are still fresh is to feel them. If they feel slimy or look darker than normal, it is time to throw them away. I would say about the same if they are stored in their original container or package. If you use a Green Bag, I have kept them as long as three weeks - I'm absolutely serious. If you do not have a Green Bag, a muslin bag or cloth will work nearly as well. The idea is to keep the moisture away from them without drying them out. And if they do become dried out because of lack of humidity, finish drying them on the kitchen counter and keep them in a ziploc bag once they are fully dried for later use.
Portobello mushrooms can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. It is best to keep them in a paper bag or an unsealed container to allow for air circulation. Discard them if they become slimy or develop a foul odor.

i have the same problem but ive never had mushrooms in my yard ever :@ Having no mushrooms is probably temporary. Mushrooms will always grow back, but not that fast, and will take sometimes an excruciatingly long time. If the mushrooms don't grow back for several days, that means it is a bug.
To keep cut mushrooms fresh for longer, store them in a paper bag or a breathable container in the refrigerator. Avoid storing them in airtight containers or plastic bags, as this can cause them to become slimy. It's best to use the mushrooms within a few days for optimal freshness.
