Only 1 male Betta can be kept in a tank. The basic rules for fishkeeping are " 1 inch of fish (a Betta is a 3 inch fish) needs at least 1 gallon of water. Every tank must have a permanently running 'cycled' filter. Every tank must have at least 50% of its water replaced every week. Provided you do not overstock, several female Bettas can be kept together. It is only the male of the species that fights and they will only fight with another male of the same species.

Yes, you can just not have 2 male bettas together.
Take them out of the tank and separate them. They'll most likely eat the babies.
The only fish you can keep in a 5 gallon tank is one betta (Siamese fighting fish) on it's own as that is a very small tank.
