Salt is not a caloric food.
only pure sodium in salt, no calories
Kosher salt is used in cooking mostly because it's easier to handle than table salt. The large, coarse grains are easily pinched with the fingers, and sprinkled around the food. Also, because the grains are bigger they occupy more volume, so if a recipe calls for a tablespoon of kosher salt and you substitute a tablespoon of table salt you'll get too much. And because the grains don't dissolve immediately, it can be used for garnishing. Another reason cooks like to use kosher salt is that its flavour isn't mixed with a hint of iodine.
Kosher salt
Kosher salt is basically regular salt because salt is kosher. Salt isn't good for you if you eat too much.Answer:Chemically speaking, table salt and coarse (kosher) salt are the same.
Not exactly, but for many purposes it's close enough. Kosher salt is salt that has large coarse grains, and no additives.
Salt is a mineral and contains no calories.
Sea salt is a mineral and so long as anything that is non-kosher is not added to the dry salt crystals the salt is kosher. To say that sea salt is not kosher because non-kosher aquatic life lives in the ocean would be the same as saying that all fruits and vegetables are not kosher because they've come in contact with bugs.
That is approximately 1/3 tablespoon.
Kosher salt can be purchased in grocery stores
No kosher salt available
All salt is kosher. "Kosher salt" is a particular grade of salt, with coarse crystals, that is used for making meat kosher, and is also useful in cooking. It's no more kosher than any other kind of salt.
All salt is kosher unless something is added to it that isn't kosher. Kosher salt is just a large grained salt. Use the same amount of any salt.
