Most chameleons lay eggs.
One that doesn't is the Jacksons Chameleon.
It gives live birth to about 4 or 5 babies.
From 10-40 eggs depending of the food.
There are approximately 80 different species in the chameleon family.
Chameleon
A chameleon has 4 heart chambers.
Lifespan: 5 - 10 y (Jackson's chameleon, In captivity). Chameleons or chamaeleons are a distinctive and highly specialized clade of old world lizards. The approximately 180 species of chameleon come in a range of colours, and many species have the ability to change colours.
Fl Chams breeds and sells chameleons to anywhere in America. They sell and breed Panther Chameleons, Veiled Chameleons, Premium Veiled Chameleons, Translucent Veiled Chameleons, Jacksons Chameleons, Pygmy Chameleons, Carpet Chameleons, Other Chameleon Species. I know about them but I checked their site many times and they had wc only when available
There are 135 types of chameleons living in every continent in the world except Antarctica.
I don't know about ALL types of chameleons, but the most common Veiled Chameleon lays an average of about 40 eggs at a time, but not all of them will hatch and some will probably be infertile.
no there are a huge population
Yes because they have nice ways to get out of things like my chameleon always acts dumb when he sees to many colors
There are many plants that chameleons like for plants in their environment. make sure that when you are purchasing the plants you ask some one in the nursing department if the plants are treated with pesticides. if so wash throughly with soupy rag. some plants are very toxic to reptiles (chameleons) depending on the chameleon of your choice, the chameleon may like to munch on some leaves now and then for example the veiled chameleon is a chameleon that eats leaves now and then. the simple tomato plant is very toxic to reptiles the leaves and the stem. here is a lis of plants safe for a chameleon's environment. the Pathos is one of my favorites, because they grow really long and you can hang the vines for the chameleons to climb. http://www.geocities.com/chameleoncreatures/nontoxicplants.html
Chameleons have two eyes on the side of its head. Each eye operates independantly and this is how a chameleon can see in two different directions. Usually animals that eyes are on the sides of its heads see two pictures but like a human chameleons see one picture.
yes, chameleons are the only one that can do it.....
