What is your definition of a common chameleon? There is not a species of chameleon called "common chameleon" if you mean the kind of chameleon most often seen in movies then you are probably referring to the veiled chameleon who's price ranges anywhere from forty dollars to two hundred dollars depending on where you purchase them. You should be warned though that chameleons are not often social animals and do not do well when handled. They will get stressed out very easily and cease eating and drinking regularly if too stressed and can subsequently die of dehydration.
